Perhaps the most important realization that an individual can make in their quest for personal growth is that there is no single formula that defines the path to personal success. We all have different goals and priorities, which means that different activities and attitudes will make us feel good about ourselves. We also have different natural strengths and weaknesses that are a part of our inherent personality type. How then, as individuals, can we feel successful in our lives?

Understand What's Important to You

Each personality type has a different idea of what it means to be successful. Self-knowledge is one common goal that will help everyone achieve personal success. So many people are hung up on somebody else's idea of what it means to be successful, and they are unaware of what is truly important to them. This is completely normal. We all have important role-models and influencers in our lives who may have basic values that are quite different from our own. If this is the case, it's important to recognize that the discrepancy between what we have been taught is truly important and what we personally believe to be truly important is due to a difference in perspective. If we spend our time and effort trying to meet somebody else's idea of success, and ignore or belittle any conflicting messages from our own psyche, then we will find ourselves exhausted and unhappy. 1.- Give out Effective Supervision

You cannot expect your employees to be productive if you do not provide effective supervision. Give out clear instructions, be firm in your decision, and manage your employees in such a way that you will be able to maximize their talents and skills.

2.- Encourage Good Working Relations

Aside from safety, you should also ensure that you are able to provide a positive work environment by cultivating positive work relations among your employees. You can achieve this through teambuilding seminars and activities, and by being an effective mediator between employees who have problems with each other. A peaceful and positive work environment results in employees that are more productive.

3.- Give Proper Motivation

A good boss is able to motivate his or her employees through proper methods such as rewards, recognition, favorable workers compensation and incentives. Remember, praises should be done in public while criticisms should always be kept private.

4.- Take Criticisms Constructively

Speaking of criticisms, it is important to know that just because you are a boss does not mean that you are excluded from this. In fact, expect to hear some criticisms about your work and your method of management. But do not take this negatively. Instead, use this to improve your weakness. Do not take this personally either. After all, you really cannot please everybody.

5.- Communicate with your Employees

Communication is always a two-way process and being a good boss means that you are not the only one who does all the talking. Be a good listener too. Make sure that aside from letting your employees know about your expectations, instructions, and pep talks, you also listen to what they have to say.

6.- Have a good balance between being fun and being authoritative

It is a good idea to let your employees know see the fun side of you by joking around with them or having fun. There is a time and place for that such as when you are outside the workplace. But once inside the office, you should exercise your authority and give out the necessary discipline to your employees.

A real good boss is not someone who is just pretending to be one for the sake of making profits but someone who is genuinely concerned with the welfare of his or her employees.

How to speak your mind...

There are times when you need to make a point, but you have to do it right. When it comes to speaking their minds, the vast majority of people in this world fall under either one of two categories: they either speak their minds without considering the feelings of others, or they do not speak their minds at all. To become successful, you must be different from these people.

You must know how to speak your mind without offending a lot of people at the same time. However, one thing that you have to accept is that you will sometimes ruffle the feathers of others when speaking your mind, and the reason for this is because there will always be people who do not agree with you.

When it comes to speaking your mind, the last thing you want to be is a coward. A coward tries to avoid speaking his mind "in order to avoid conflict." Trying to avoid conflict is worthless and meaningless, simply because it is a fact of life.

We live in a world full of non-altruistic humans who think first and foremost of themselves. What this means is that they will be quick to impose their ways of life on you, and many of them will try to control you. Your goal should be to make sure this does not happen.

The best way to accomplish this is by knowing how to speak your mind. The first step in speaking your mind properly is to monitor your tone of voice. Even if someone is doing something that angers you, you will want to tell them this is in a calm manner.

Your tone of voice communicates a lot, and if it conveys anger or similar emotions, it will hurt others or push them away. There's no arguing that communication is an integral part of any relationship, be it familial, friendship, business or romantic. In fact, an absence or breakdown of communication can put even the best relationships in serious jeopardy. Poor communication often leads to feelings of betrayal, growing distrust, misunderstandings, and even social isolation. Contrary to popular belief, the foundation of solid communication is not making yourself be heard or expressing yourself clearly. While these are elements of good communication, the real core of communication is understanding where the other person is coming from. Productive communication simply can't exist without both parties expressing ideas and making efforts towards genuine listening. Though this may seem paradoxical, the key to communication is more about listening to the other then flooding him/her with information about who you are, what you want, and how you feel. Remember, disappointing or not, the ultimate goal of communication is most often compromise.

Communicating effectively or opening the lines of communication needn't feel forced or incredibly unnatural - even the most hesitant communicators can improve with a bit of effort and attention to detail. The first step in becoming an admirable communicator is to pay attention to what makes a good communicator. When, for example, do you hit walls in your own dealings with other people? Replay your conversations in your mind, asking yourself what might have gone wrong - or right. For the sake of improving your own proficiency, observe the subtle habits of excellent communicators; people who make themselves understood and seem to understand the needs, experiences, and feelings of those around them. Laughter can cure what ills you and make life fun. So let's sign out from ur broken heart-door to find someone who can really make u smile; and once you find the right person, learn to worth every second with them or u will never earn another minute after the loss or even the last time to see their smile.
